“It was crazy to see it get dropped off in a big truck…”
Anthony Van Englelen’s curved green bench took another long distance trip in fall 2021. Travelling from the West to East Coast, it arrived at Tompkins Square Park to mark the opening of Fucking Awesome’s New York store just a street away from renowned NY blacktop.
Louie Lopez and the F.A. crew met the bench on arrival. Speaking with Farran Golding (who broke the Green Bench story via the Quartersnacks’ ‘Favorite Spot’ series) for the first issue of Closer, Louie reflected on skating it for the first time on that autumn afternoon.
In the same interview, Louie also spoke about filming for his F.A. video part, ‘Days Of Grace’ which you can check out here.
